Vybz Kartels’ business partner, Corey Todd has officially relaunched Street Vybz rum. The rum was discontinued after a short feud between the two. Because of the overwhelming demand for the rum, they were obligated to supply it. Although it has been off the market for months, Todd believes that nothing needs to be different this time around. “The name of the rum is Street ‘Vybz’, so ‘Vybz’ Kartel will always be the face of the product. Other artistes in the Gaza will hold some of the weight until he returns. Tommy Lee is the hottest ‘un-incarcerated’ artiste right now so he’s a very appropriate representative for the product,” he said.

Reggae Singer Jah Cure Inspired by Haitian President Michel Martelly
Reggae superstar Jah Cure, during a recent visit to Haiti to perform at a concert, was impressed by the steely confidence of the Haitian president, Michel Martelly, and moreso, Martelly’s ability to reinvent himself from a singer to a politician. “It was great to meet a musical president,” Jah Cure told The Gleaner. “When I met him at first I was surprised, he was young, fresh, powerful, full of swag. I was looking for an older man, but I really loved his energy and his story is so truly inspiring.” “He was a singer who just randomly ran for president and won, I admire that because it shows that from music, you can do and accomplish anything . He actually told me that he was going to try to come to my concert and if so, he would take the mic and do a thing,” Jah Cure said, laughing. “Yu just have to respect this man.”

Sean Penn’s Charity To Demolish Haiti’s Palace
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti—The nonprofit aid group founded by Hollywood star Sean Penn will oversee demolition of the wrecked National Palace, the Haitian government said Tuesday. Sean Penn’s group will begin the demolition in the next 10 days. The group is not charging for the work, which is expected to take about two months. Ambassador Penn mentioned that his organization could provide the engineers and equipment to do the demolition at no cost to the government,”.
Penn’s group hopes the demolition will mark a turning point for Haiti as it works with the government and a department in charge of preserving historical monuments. The effort will include both construction machines along with workers using their hands, said Ron Baldwin, the group’s executive director.
