



Beyonce brought in the new year performing at a private concert at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas. The event was invite-only, an audience of 700 couples attended. Beyonce performed past and present hits, and also led the crowd for the countdown to the new year.

Jay-Z and Beyonce tried to cash in on the name “Blu Ivy” but hit a road bloack, they were unable to obtain a trademark. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office sent a suspended letter to the couple for pending trademarks. A Boston-based wedding-planning company Blue Ivy had been operating under the name, since 2009.

Some of the pricier swag the newest edition to the Carter family received includes a handmade solid gold horse from Japanese jeweler Ginza Tanaka with a $600,000 price tag, a coach-like crib from Posh Tots, which cost $20,000 and a $15,000 Swarovski crystal covered highchair.
